Client:
McGill Residences
Description:
McGill's Royal Victoria College residence has recently been comsuming large amounts of energy, and the Assistant Director of Residences, Mr. David Balcombe, has mandated the MEP to find out why. The first phase of the project consists of accounting for the building's current energy usage, and finding where the biggest losses are happening.
Sources of Loss to be Monitored:
- Building envelope
- Faulty equipment
- User practices
The second phase of the project has a very wide scope in which project participants will suggest optimal solutions, which could range from updating inefficient equipment to introducing new practices for occupants.
